RENOVATIONCALCULATOR.AU (“we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
The calculator itself
The renovation cost calculator operates entirely within your browser. No calculations, inputs or estimate results are transmitted to our servers. We do not see, log or store what you enter into the calculator.
The calculator uses static benchmark market inputs reviewed periodically. Current values shown on this site are based on static benchmark data reviewed March 2026. These values are built into the calculator and no external API requests are made during calculation.
What we collect
If you choose to submit a project brief via the contact form, we collect:
- Your name and contact details (email address and phone number)
- Your city and project type
- Your approximate budget and preferred start date
- A description of your project
- The estimate generated by the calculator at the time of submission
Submitting a brief is entirely optional. You can use the calculator without providing any personal information.
How we use your information
We use the information you submit solely to follow up on your renovation enquiry. We do not use it for unrelated marketing. We do not sell, rent or trade your information to third parties. We only share it with service providers required to process your enquiry, such as our form handling provider (Formspree).
Form processing
Quote request submissions are processed via Formspree, a third-party form handling service. Formspree processes form data on our behalf and is bound by its own privacy policy. See Formspree’s Privacy Policy for full details.
Cookies and analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use this site. This service uses cookies to collect aggregated, anonymised data about page views, session duration and general usage patterns. This data does not identify you personally. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Data retention
Quote request submissions are retained for up to 12 months and then deleted, unless there is an ongoing enquiry that requires longer retention. Analytics data is retained in accordance with Google Analytics’ standard data retention settings.
Your rights
Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:
- Request access to the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information
- Request deletion of your personal information
- Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC)

Security
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss, unauthorised access and disclosure. All form submissions are transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS). We do not store payment information of any kind.
